Formerly known as Nanjing University’s Venture Capital Research and Development Center, established in 2006, the new center is a professional and open research platform for financial technology and also one of the earliest comprehensive research institution in Jiangsu Province engaged in block chain technology research. Relying on the strong research strengths and international influence of Nanjing University, the center works closely with renowned universities and research institutions such as Harvard University, Oxford University, National University of Singapore and Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and has established a research and communication platform to promote the development of financial technological industry in Jiangsu province and even in China through research on the cutting-edge theoretical and practical issues of financial technology.

Since the establishment of the center, it has carried out research in the core areas of financial technology such as financial big data, Internet finance, robo-advisor, digital currency and block chain. Members of the center have published more than 50 papers in core journals and more than 10 treatises and undertaken more than 30 research projects from government departments, enterprises and public institutions.
